Water is an essential thing for every individual. It is one of the keys to our survival where mainly we depend on it. According to Gundersen Health System, Our body is made out of 60% water, within this, we can see that proper consumption is very important to maintain this composition to become healthy. However, it must be clean water since if the water is contaminated, it would result in various diseases or illnesses that will only make the individual experience difficulty. Safe, clean, and drinkable water is a must for everyone. Equal access to proper water, hygiene, and sanitation are what we must aim for our development and health.

Based on Water Org, more than Three million people in our country rely on unsafe and unreliable water sources. While 7 Million lack access to improved sanitation. This only shows that not all of us in the Philippines have a healthy consumption of water in our daily lives. This unsafe water may contribute to different kinds of diseases such as Cholera, Dysentery, Typhoid, Polio, Diarrhoea, etc. Also, based on the statistics of UNICEF, only 91% of the Philippines which is approximately 100.7 million people have at least basic water services. However, within this statistic, people tend to experience inequality and inequity wherein most of the wealthiest people have more access to basic water services which is around 90%. While on the remaining quantile, 80% of the poorest have access to it. These articles and statistics, only show that our community and country need to improve especially in terms of the cleanliness of the water, as well as sanitation and hygiene.

In conclusion, as human beings and citizens, water is one of the important basic needs that we need in our life. Therefore, proper and clean water is what we must need in order to survive. Without basic needs, it will only provide suffering to the people. So we must take an action to achieve the goal of having safe and drinkable water for our consumption. Some people have access but not all. So we must gain equality and equity for the sake of our development. Once again, equality and equity in clean and safe water is a must just like the saying "Water is Life, and Clean Water means health".
