Hygiene is the practice of keeping oneself and one's surroundings clean in order to prevent infection and disease and remain healthy and fit. Sanitation and hygiene are extremely important in times of emergency, such as natural disasters, when access to clean, safe water may be limited. Above all else, it is still essential to develop and apply the correct self-sanitization technique with the epidemic still in progress.
In the Philippines, one-sixth of all recorded illness cases and approximately 6,000 preventable deaths are attributed to exposure to water pollution, inadequate sanitation, and poor hygiene habits. In the Philippines, a large number of residents lack septic systems. Additionally, just 10% of the nation has access to a piped sewer system, and 8% has no access to sanitary services. In actuality, water-borne diseases constitute a threat to the Filipino populace. The political climate and corruption have significantly lowered the government's capacity to provide high-quality public services. Structures, regulations, and programs related to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene are fragmented, which is a significant issue.
More measures for cleanliness and sanitation include washing your hands with soap after using the restroom, brushing your teeth twice daily, wiping your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze with a tissue (or your sleeve), and washing your hands after touching animals.
In conclusion, good sanitation and hygiene practices stop the spread of illnesses and infections. Diseases will be greatly reduced if everyone on the globe practices proper hygiene for both themselves and the objects around them.
