As responsible citizens of society, how can you help solve the problem of sanitation?
1) ENCOURAGING AND EDUCATING
Hygiene and sanitation are one of the major problems that our country is facing. Neglecting this will only make our country suffer more, so as a responsible citizen I must encourage and educate everyone about the things we can do, the reasons for doing it, and the importance, of having clean sanitation and hygiene. A simple campaign or advocacy can be a way for these things which will surely be effective when posted through social media since nowadays people tend to use it for new information. This social media includes Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Instagram, etc. which are famous ones.
In our places, we can see some people who don't throw their garbages in the appropriate bin. As a citizen, we can simply talk with them and educate the things that we must do and the reasons for them. Even everyone, we can formally speak with them and discuss things, it will be more effective to show facts or evidence that will surely encourage everyone to persuade them of the right thing to do.

Lastly, even with ourselves, we must have the knowledge itself. How can we encourage or educate someone if even ourselves is we don't know anything about it? So we must research, study, and learn from it first.

2) STOP TRANSMISSION
Encourage frequent hand washing with soap and water and refrain from touching the eyes, nose, and mouth. Ensure access to basic hygiene facilities such as toilets, handwashing areas, water, soap, and alcohol/ sanitizer.
Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic highlights the importance and preventive power of water, sanitation, and hygiene to human health and well-being. Good hygiene, including handwashing with clean water, is the first line of defense against COVID-19 and other viral diseases. Washing hands with soap and water is the single most efficient measure against COVID-19, but 40 percent of the global population does not have access to clean water and soap in their homes. The pandemic is making it evident that investments in the provision of basic water, sanitation, and hygiene services must be a key priority in the coming years, not least since the progress that has been made so far is now threatened by climate change and rising poverty levels. People with suspected or confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection should be provided with their own toilet Sanitation workers must be protected from the additional risks associated with the pandemic. Risks related to the adequacy of the collection system or to treatment and disposal methods should be assessed following a sanitation safety planning approach. Untreated fecal sludge and wastewater from health facilities should never be released on land used for food production, or aquaculture, or disposed of in recreational waters.
3) DONATE
How can a community immerse itself in practicing proper sanitation and hygiene if they don’t have the necessary supplies and resources? Through simple acts of donations and charities in areas with high rates of bacterial diseases and in places where open defecation is still practiced, we help speed up the process of fulfilling basic human rights.

4) CONSERVE WATER
Water plays a vital role in fulfilling proper sanitation and hygiene. In fact, Half of the world's population already faces acute water scarcity at least once a year due to the demand for water outpacing population growth. One of the cheapest, simplest, and most successful ways to stop the transmission of infections like the coronavirus was to wash one's hands at home safely. However, it is projected that 3 billion people worldwide lacked this capacity in 2017.
Bearing that in mind, It is crucial that we make an effort to implement in our lifestyle ways of conserving water. Here are some simple ways how we can do just that:
-Take a shower of 5 minutes or less
-Turn off tap water when not in use
-Install a water-saving toilet flush system
-Use a watering can to water the plants
-Fix leaks immediately
